Rowena McGeoch
Doing it for themselves, 3 - 4am

Rowe’s love for community radio started with her commuting to Sydney from Newcastle to present the graveyard shift on Sydney’s FBi Radio. She finally relocated in 2012 while coordinating Sound Summit Festival and producing FBi’s formerly DIY, innovative and experimental music program, Radiant. Rowe currently hosts Arvos on FBi Radio and for a day job sends new Australian music to community radio nationally. She has recently completed a BA in Communication at the University of Technology, Sydney.

What does feminism mean to you?
Feminism to me in 2014 is about individualism and choice for women beyond limitations and expectations set by others. It is about our ability to be who we are, to cast our own roles, and to achieve our wants and goals professionally and as people.
Girls to the Mic is a joint initiative of the Digital Radio Project and Community Radio Network at the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia
